As a paranormal investigator and researcher with Mount Washington Valley SPIRIT, my approach is firmly rooted in scientific principles. While the paranormal is intriguing, I believe it's crucial to first explore and understand the many natural and explainable phenomena that can contribute to perceived paranormal activity.

My investigations begin with a thorough assessment of the environment, considering several key factors. First, I examine human behavior and cognition. How might suggestion, expectation, or even pareidolia, that natural human tendency to see patterns in random stimuli, influence people's perceptions? Are there any underlying psychological or emotional factors at play that could be contributing to the reported experiences?

Next, I turn my attention to environmental factors. Could natural phenomena be responsible for what's being perceived? Things like air currents, temperature fluctuations, infrasound, those low-frequency sound waves, electromagnetic fields, or even the weather can sometimes create sensations or effects that might be misinterpreted as paranormal.

I also carefully assess any structural issues within the building. Are there any structural elements that could be causing unusual sounds, vibrations, or visual distortions? Sometimes, seemingly innocuous things like old plumbing, settling foundations, or even the way a building is ventilated can create unexpected and explainable effects.

To gather data and analyze these potential causes, I use a variety of scientific tools and techniques. This often includes environmental monitoring, where I measure temperature, humidity, electromagnetic fields, and sound levels to identify any unusual patterns or anomalies. I also utilize photography and videography to document the environment and any potential sources of visual illusions or misinterpretations. And, of course, I conduct thorough interviews and gather witness statements, carefully considering potential biases or influences as I collect information from people who have experienced the perceived paranormal activity.

Only after thoroughly investigating these natural and explainable causes do I even consider the possibility of a truly paranormal explanation. And even then, I approach the subject with a healthy dose of skepticism and a firm commitment to a scientific approach. If I am unable to find a definitive explanation, I collaborate with experts in relevant scientific and medical fields to explore potential causes that may be beyond my area of expertise.

While I acknowledge that some aspects of paranormal science are still theoretical, I believe it's important to stay informed about the latest research and developments in the field. I explore topics like electromagnetic field theories, the stone tape theory, and the potential influence of human consciousness on paranormal phenomena, always maintaining a critical and scientific perspective.
